Spend Everything
I spent everything. Not a little, not what I could spare, but all of it, on a single thing. There are only a few moments in a life that ask for this much, and they don't wait. Timing is the quiet part nobody teaches you. The road stays open for a while and then it closes, so I poured it all in while I still could.
If it works, it isn't success. If it doesn't, it isn't failure. It's the first line of a conversation that lasts the rest of my life. I can't control how it's answered. So I did only what was mine to do: revealed everything, no lie, nothing made up, and left it to be weighed from the other side. This isn't convincing anyone, or negotiating, or persuading. It's building trust by acting. Simple, and the only thing that truly works. I believe in myself, and I'm grateful when someone else does too.
The future is forming right here at my feet, step by step. The old memories fall to dust, and new ones settle on top with a firmer footing. Some will be bright and some will be hard. I want both. The future is mine.
